| Summary: | 碩士 === 亞太創意技術學院 === 文化創意設計研究所 === 106 === The purpose of this project is to bring art into daily life by hand engraving glass, especially the everyday glassware. Beautified by glass engraving techniques, the glassware becomes not only artistic but practical. Thus, how to bring creation and sense of beauty into daily life and build an artistic life is the major motive of the creator.
The creator applies his technique and perception of beauty to everyday utensils, presenting the beauty of modern craft by hand glass engraving. Under the premise of pursuing personalization and artistry, the texture of the product shows a higher identity, reaching a hand glass engraving craft with delicacy.
The creator applies the combination of incised technique used in stone carving and wood carving to glass engraving. Moreover, the incised stone carving, called jiandi pingsa (even carving on a slightly indented background) and suping diaoke (plain and flat carving) in ancient books, is also applied to the technique of shallow relief in wood carving, called line carving and relief in ancient books. With these various techniques, the glass presents detailly and physically a rich quality with distinct layers, shadows, and delicacy. Building an artistic life and bringing art into daily life have been the life goal pursued wholeheartedly by modern people.
This project aims to achieve the flowing goals with the concepts of beauty and practicality:
1. This project conveys the beauty of glass craft by engraving and enhances the value of the artistic creation.
2. This project applies hand glass engraving and related techniques to daily necessities, creating memorable and unique artworks that make life beautiful.
