Existing literature largely discuss the arts in theatre, among few from the views of business management which widely discuss the marketing strategies of certain theatre companies; rarely from the point of view of theatre industry as a whole. The purposes of the study are to know the business features of theatre companies in Taiwan, as well as to identify and analysis the industry dilemmas, through sharing of the first-hand experiences of senior managers in various theatre companies. The study finds out that the three common business features found in the studied theatre companies are (1)all of them possess a well established organizational structure, (2)all of them practice a strict annually financial policy, and (3)all of them adopts a specific market positioning strategy. The common dilemmas faced by the industry include insufficiency of venues for stage performances, decline in the number of audience, inadequate art education for public, ineffectiveness of the government funding policy and talent shortage. The study suggests that the cause of the mentioned industry dilemmas is the lack of a social environment for the development of arts. Therefore, the study attempts to give advices to the government, theatre companies, as well as the social public on practices that help enhancing the growth and development of theatre arts. 連雅慧 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 107 zh-TW |
