They were built in early days and did not take into account the concept of disaster prevention and fire safety equipment. Therefore, when a fire occurs, it is easy to delay the rescue time and cause serious disasters. This study used literature review and expert interviews, conducted on-the-spot investigations, and fire simulation for the Minnan-style buildings in Kinmen. Our purpose is to find out the difficulties and precautions of fire rescue. The research results show that the narrow roadway in the traditional Minnan settlement are unfavorable rescue. The wood construction materials should be paid attention to the burning situation. As for the people to report the fire case, there should be a more perfect mechanism to improve the disaster relief time. Finally, several corresponding solutions are proposed according to the conclusion, and it is expected to effectively reduce disaster losses.
