No matter the own background of researcher or the background of the team, researcher had paid attention to this competition. The purpose of this research is to found out the gender ideological connotations of the sport news in Taiwan. And in this research we used the electronic newspaper in 2017 Taipei Universiade Taekwondo Fighting Competition for example. We found no matter the quantity of the news or the quantity of the photos, male’s was more than female’s. While reporting the male athlete event, the media easily attributed success to competence, and failure was attributed to the ability of the opponent. And in the female event, the media will use stereotyped attributions such as lack of aggressiveness or physical discomfort. And we also found while reporting the male athlete event, media was easy to lead to difficult and other external situation factors, mistakes were inevitable, and they are non-technical bad. In the female event, media was often a simple description on the occurrence of a mistake and lack of explanation on the occurrence of a mistake. In this way, the gender differences in the report are likely to cause the general public to misunderstand the ability of female athletes, and it also easily indirectly affects the development of female athletes in Taiwan.
