| Summary: | 碩士 === 中國科技大學 === 建築系 === 106 === Since the existed over 30 years old residential houses in Taipei is more than 570,000 units, it makes us worry about the safety of those houses. Urban renewal is one of the effective ways to solve this problem. By way of urban renewal to plan and design reasonable public facilities and spaces, it could improve our living environment and the quality of life.
Now the days, the proportion of public facilities in most urban renewal projects are even up to 30%. But we are rarely thinking about the reasonable proportion and using conditions of those public space. It is still being designed to enlarge the public facilities. Its cost is transferred to the consumer, but increased the profit of the investors.
This study mainly discusses the different scale of finished renewal projects in Taipei. Through the physical environment surveying, in-depth interview with the investors and the questionnaire of those urban renewed communities’ residents, we can understand the satisfaction of those residents with the public facilities, the using problem of public spaces, and put forward the countermeasures and suggestions to solve the problem. This study found that:
1. In outdoor public space, the factors which influenced the satisfaction with public space of urban renewal communities is mainly the design for barrier free planning and clean environment; But in indoor public space, it comes to be the barrier free design, space size, maintains and services level.
2.The relationship between using frequency, satisfaction, and the importance cognition of public facilities in terms of renewal community scale could be as the following:
(1). In general, the higher using frequency of the public spaces, the more satisfaction it will be. In the meantime, small scale community is found to be lower using frequency, but higher satisfaction. The inference may be the less variety of public spaces, make residents more dependent on those public space.
(2). The cognition of the importance of public spaces in the outdoor, the priority comes to be the lobby, the saloon, the sport room, the janitors’ room. The less important items are the table tennis room, sauna, swimming pool.
3.The ways suggested to improve the public spaces of urban renewal community could be as the following:
(1). As to the outdoor public space, we should enhance the management and maintenance work, and the improvement of barrier-free we should enhance and utilities.
(2). As to the Indoor public space, we should design the space in appropriate size and enhance the barrier free facility and keep them with full safety and security.
