Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 建築研究所 === 106 === Abstract Thanks to the great improvement achieved in illumination technology since the invention of electrical lamp, most activities of day time can now be continued at night, making nightlife attractive. In recent years, because of the increase of life stress, people were busy working or studying in the daytime. People had no chance to be exposed to the nature environment and relax.Night has become almost the only choice for leisure and community interactions. And parks are the most favoured place for that in cities. In this study, onsite investigation was performed to the illumination in the northern district of Da’an Forest Park and Zhonghe Park at night, and also to the behavior of users in them, including the categorization and distribution. Behaviour was classified in to 3 types: walking, staying and sporting. Cross comparison was performed between the behavior and the illumination, in order to reveal the relevance between them. 1.Results of the study showed that the influence that the illumination intensity had on the behavior was largely weak, except for some particular activities. 2.Among those staying users in the parks, most stayed in places either brighter or darker than the surrounding areas, which may be basically driven by the inner needs or the safety needs of the users. And the quantity of staying users in brighter places exceeds that in darker places. 3.The influence of illumination on the choice of path by movers was not significant, but the vertical illumination showed higher influence than horizontal illumination. However, for safety concern, good illumination is necessary in the design of park, so as to provide better view over the path condition. 4.The investigation also showed that most of the users in these 2 parks were walking on foot, about 58% in Da''an Forest Park, and 76% in Zhonghe Park, which reasonably indicated that walking on foot was commonly the favoured pattern of behavior in night parks.
