Especially after the signature of Cross-Strait Sea Transport Agreement in 2008, cross-strait shipping companies can be in charge of direct ships for passengers and cargos. It contributes to cut down not only the time but the cost of shipment. Furthermore, the number of Chinese tourists visiting Taiwan has increased rapidly. Under such circumstances, the shipping companies are bound to adjust the management strategies to meet the market’s needs. The purpose of the study is to analyze the market of cross-strait direct ships for passenger and cargo under the present cross-strait relations. The present study is conducted by taking W Company for example to figure out the position of high speed ships for passenger and cargo in the market. Moreover, the Ground Theory is applied in this research, and the qualitive method, Interview content and related analysis is adopted as well. Consequently, research result this research aims to provide constructive and useful suggestions for further study and transport management.
