According to Cheon et al. (2012) identified m-learning as “learning across multiple contexts, through social and content interactions, using personal electronic devices.”. Within Taiwan, m-learning has impacted on EFL (English as a foreign language) students evidenced that they have been found to be more engaged and motivated in the learning process. Learning English using mobile technologies innovatively can open up new opportunities and methods. However, using m-learning in English language learning is rather new in Taiwan and has not been widely studied in previous research. This study investigates Taiwanese university EFL students’ acceptance of m-learning. The differences between the four variables as well as against the students’ background characteristics were also explored. Questionnaires were collected from 332 participants studying EFL and the data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way AVONA and Pearson’s correlation analysis. The results revealed that the EFL university students had a high level of acceptance toward m-learning. The findings also showed that students have positive attitudes and behavioral intentions towards m-learning. In addition, the students’ year level, school districts and the duration of use were related to students’ perceived usefulness. The results suggested that instructors could offer more integrative curricula with learning activities of m-learning to improve EFL language proficiency.
