Description
Summary:碩士 === 大葉大學 === 企業管理學系碩士班 === 106 === The thesis investigates the relationship between audit quality and corporate governance by using the publicly listed firms of Taiwan stock markets from 2007 to 2016 as the samples. Two measures of audit quality are applied in this study, discretionary accruals and the industry specialization of accounting firms. The data consists of 864 sample companies with 8,638 firm-year observations. The proxies for corporate governance include board size, board independence, board’s ownership, audit committee, blockholders’ ownership, managerial ownership and CEO duality. The results indicate that there is a negative relationship between discretionary accruals and board size, CEO duality, boards’ ownership, audit committee and blockholders’ ownership while there is a positive relationship between discretionary accruals and board independence. The result is robust by using the industry specialization of accounting firms as the proxy of audit quality.
