Summary:碩士 === 大葉大學 === 運動健康管理學系 === 106 === As Taiwan enters into an aging society, the percentage of the elderly in total population has surpassed 14%; hence, the needs and mental health of the elderly become more important. Thus, for the concern of the well-being of the elderly, it is worthy to probe into factors of the elderly mental health. The purpose of this study is to find if social and economic statuses and social support of the elderly significantly influence their mental health. This study adopted questionnaire survey and retrieved 353 valid questionnaires. Data were analyzed by SPSS and AMOS. According to research findings, (1) different social and economic statuses show significant difference on mental health. (2) Social support positively influences mental health. According to research findings, this study proposes related suggestions as reference for long-term care project and social care for the elderly and they can be the criteria for the government to construct the policies related to the elderly.
