To get consumers addicted in shopping, wide ranges and huge numbers of merchandises are manufactured and promoted in all possibilities. Simply “buy a new one!” can regenerate the old belongings in our time. When things grown old and in the debate of being discarded or retained, many open questions are involved beyond the discussion to the external value of them. This often cause conflicts in me which fluctuates like tide when the possessed items get old, because the familiarity of the items with me is increasing yet the appearance and the function are detracting.
My works in 〈Build by Subtracting〉 were carried out by " removing" and "adding" the material in technic for exploring the intangible being in the relation between materials and me? Metal has an image of immortal thus three series of metalwork were made in contradiction to other materials.《Deform and Reform》is consisted in jewelry forms, the close wearable accessory, which reflected the sovereignty of human beings to the objects. In《The Decadent》and《The Inertia》series, I expressed the conflict by duplicating some outworn products with metal from which were valued under the brand name and prices.
