The new pension system is expected to cause current soldiers, public officers and teachers feel difficult to adapt. Thus, this study aimed at investigating whether the financial attitudes and financial behaviors of primary school teachers are influenced by their diverse risk preference. In this study, the Questionnaire Survey was implemented. In total, 260 effective questionnaires were recovered, excluding 5 invalid ineffective questionnaires, from the full-time government primary school teachers in Kaohsiung city. Our results indicated that the neutral type is the majority of the government primary school teachers’ risk preference. It means that only a few of them appeared obvious tendency of risk preferred or risk avoided which the ratios of these two types are similar. In addition, financial attitudes of those who are risk avoided type are conservative, and they tended to use low leverage financial tools. On the contrary, the government primary school teachers who are risk preferred type tended to be risky and love to use high leverage financial tools. Finally, the financial attitudes of primary school teachers were found significantly predicting to the choice of their financial tools. The results of the current study could be the reference to the relevant studies in the future.
