In addition, they are built with decorative exterior wall finishes used to beautify and protect its external wall. However, due to the degradation of external walls causes it to drop and create accidents endangering the lives of people. According to Taipei’s architecture management regulation, age of houses over 15 years and houses above 3 floors should have their decorative exterior wall finishes checked regularly. The inspection of the decorative exterior wall finishes has become a necessary subject. Nowadays, the inspections cost a lot of human resource, unable to detect immediately, and have different standards. It lacks the ability of real-time detection and need an automatic intelligent inspection system. The thesis uses string-type strain gages in decorative exterior wall finishes inspections. Traditional strain gages inspection method has to install several strain gages in every piece of decorative exterior wall finishes. The cost is too high which is unable to apply. The string-type strain gages are installed outside the external wall with a mesh type. It can inspect large area with multiple points, and also have lower cost. The thesis proposes the resistance of string-type strain gage will change when buildings or the quality of walls aging which will cause external wall deformation. To deliver information to computer through the signal processing circuit and wireless transmission systems, getting the deformation of external wall and location information, then using intelligent judgment to make maintenance staff realize how the deterioration level of area.
