The contents of the study included 4 main parts, which were administrative information, environmental facilities, curriculum activities, and service staff. This study adopted the self-designed questionnaires, “the service needs and satisfaction of parents in parent-child centers”. The questionnaires were carried out in four parent-child centers in Taipei city by the method of purposive sampling. The target research groups were the parents with 0-6 year-old-children. There were 400 questionnaires totally distributed, 383 were effective questionnaires. The results of the study were showed as followed: 1. The parents with children between 3 to 6 had higher needs of environmental facilities than those with 0-1 year old infants. However, the parents with different ages of infants and children showed no significant difference on the satisfaction of parent-child centers. 2. The parents and grandparents, who took care of young children themselves had higher requirements for the environmental facilities, and the service staff. Those parents and grandparents had obviously higher demands on the parent-child centers. 3. This study found that the parent respondents spent time with young children in parent-child centers usually on Saturdays. Most parents usually took the infants and young children out during the weekends. 4. The results showed that administrative information and curriculum activities of the service needs were significantly and moderately correlated (r=.58,p<.001); the environmental facilities and service staff of the service needs were also significantly and moderately correlated (r=.67,p<.001); the satisfactions of the administrative information and the environmental facilities and service staff were significantly and moderately correlated (r=.68 & .57,p<.001). 5. The mother respondents, with the diploma of senior high school, had higher service needs from the parent-child centers than the mothers, who has the diploma of junior high school or below. However, the fathers held the similar attitudes, no matter what their educational levels were. There were no differences among their service needs of the parent-child centers. 6. The mother respondents, with the diploma of senior high school, showed more satisfaction with the administrative information and the service staff in the parent-child centers than the mothers with the diploma of junior high school or below. The fathers, with the diploma of junior high school or below, showed more satisfaction with the administrative information, environmental facilities, and overall satisfaction in the parent-child centers than the fathers with master degree. As the study result stated above, the recommendations were provided to the government, business operators of parent-child centers, and the future researchers.
