Description
Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 國際經營管理碩士學位學程 === 106 === This study investigates the economic consequences of corporate fraud by examining the association between incidence of corporate fraud and the use of trade credit in a sample of listed Chinese firms from 2001 to 2016. Our results show corporate fraud has a negative and significant effect on the level of accounts payable; however, the association between corporate fraud and accounts payable period varies with firm characteristics. In addition, Political connections weaken the effect of corporate fraud on the use of trade credit. Our results suggest that corporate fraud limits a firm’s ability in obtaining short-term financing from their suppliers.
