Not only in people, also in the business world. When the phone was created in 1860 it was a revolution in the technological word for the horizon of possibilities that it provides. In 1942 the first computer was created, providing more possibilities both business and personal environments. During the next years, the growth of technology was exponential, adapting it to the business world and personal world. Companies like IBM, Apple, Microsoft and Altair were the pioneers of this industry. But the improvement of technology was not only in the computer environment, the bank industry has also had huge improvements thanks of technology. In 1958, American Express brought to market the first credit card as we known nowadays which was, at the beginning, a piece of paper. The next year, the credit card was made by plastic and the payments were processed centrally. Nowadays, the 70% of population use credit card and some of them have more than one card. (BBVA, 2015) During the last 15 years, the technology has increased as never before, the computers are much better, the phone has become in smartphone, creating a limitless uses and applications to make easier our life, the e-commerce, etc. This evolution is always looking for improve our experience as a customer but also it has provoked huge changes in the way to run the companies. Has the business model changed due the technology?
