Summary:碩士 === 華梵大學 === 建築系在職專班 === 106 === Shiding in the southeast of Taipei Basin belonged to Ciyuanshan Bao in Qing Dynasty. There had been aboriginals from Chiron of Pingpu tribes lived here during the year of the Qianlong reign. The continuous mountains and murmuring brooks are in this district. People here are warmth and friendliness. It was a mountain settlement with thriving agriculture and mining industry. During the Qing period, the Han people moved here, did land clearing and lived along the river. With speci c climates and topographic di erences in Shiding started proud black gold stories, which was what Taiwan and Shiding famous for oversea. Shiding therefore sprang into the important up-and-coming area in Taiwan economy. Its unique lifestyles and local history were thus remained. Difficult to earn a living and find a job make the new generation in Shiding not willing to stay here and thus local industries lack of fresh blood. The serious migration of local people, population aging, limited land development, local residents’ forgetfulness of hometown history and lack of coherence are the important reasons for the falling into margin of Shiding again. The researcher found that fragments of the references and historical books on Shiding is the di culty when probing local history of Shiding. To acquire appearance of old days and image what it was in Shiding、 under limited records of culture and history, the researcher interviewed local respected old people、cultural and historical workers and local residents, collected old photos of local stories and visited and took pictures. Cultural and heritage education has been included in education curriculum. The researcher expects that this picture book of cultural and heritage which is made according to the results of exploring local history can have local students understand the glorious past of industries in Shiding, the relationship between industries and life, and stories of local characteristics with humanity. The research also expects that students can be proud of being from Shiding and share its brilliant past. The researcher expects that the unique of Mountain Street can be recreated and makes people appreciate the charm of this small mountain city and village again.
