The demented person may be neglected for their care and dignity at the care site due to memory deterioration and cognitive decline. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to explore the experience of Taiwanese professionals in providing dignity in dementia care. This research method uses the Hermeneutics Phenomenology of qualitative research, accepts cases by means of sampling, uses basic data sheets, self-designed semi-structured interview guides and recording pens as research tools, and adopts in-depth interviews to understand the meaning of Taiwan’s "dignity in dementia care". A total of 20 cases were received. This research project can be performed after review by Institutional Review Board. "An Exploratory Study of Dignity in Dementia Care in Taiwan" are presented by three themes, six sub themes, and twelve categories were obtained. The experience extracted the theme of "Being or Nothingness of dignity", includes: 1. Bird cages: (i)Invisible cages; (ii)Restricted cages; 2. Birds in cages: (i)Birds of liberty; (ii)Birds in the folds. The experience extracted the theme of "Dignity and the others", includes:1. The public atmosphere: (i) Be good as water; (ii) Disposing of sand; 2. Personal behavior: (i) Turning stone to gold; (ii)Turning gold to stone. The experience extracted the theme of "Live well with Dementia in Society", includes: 1. Friendly environment: (i) Family values; (ii)Custom and tradition; 2. The rolling stone without moss: (i)Care and stay the same; (ii)Turn innovation. According to this experience that we get 23 guidelines and 12 principles for dignity care. From the results of this study, it was discovered that " dignity in dementia care" comes not only from the experience of professionals, but also from two "cultural phenomena", including organizations and society. These findings form a context to help Taiwan's care for environmental culture more independent and dignity. In order to improve the quality of Taiwan's professional care, dignity care of the 12 guidelines and 23 principles listed will be further applying them in the future care process.
