Sorghum distillers grains (SDG) are the largest amount of by-products after making Kaoliang liquor. According to the official data, there are 197 tons cow manure (CM) per day that is the main environmental pollution in Kinmen. Compost, which is the main way to reuse biowaste. Moreover, vermicompost is used in many countries. Therefore, this study mixed 5 different groups for composting (C1: SDG/CM= 6/0; C2: SDG/CM = 5/1; C3: SDG/CM= 3/3; C4: SDG/CM = 1/5; and C5: SDG/CM = 0/6). All tests of groups were meet official standards. Through the above results, C2 group was the best condition, followed by C3 group. Combined with the survival status of the earthworms (Eisenia andrei), C3 group was decided for the subsequent earthworm feeding and vermicompost experiments. There were significant differences between C3 and contral groups in biomass (g), the number of cocoons and juveniles (t-test, p<0.05), respectivelly. The quality of vermicompost soil (C3 group) is better than wihtout earthworm. It is expected that results for field application in the future.
