And to further understand the impact of the joint participation of the couple in volunteer services on work, career and family. In the face of challenges, how do they overcome and persist? This research adopts qualitative research methods, mainly through the collection of relevant data, personal participation in observation and in-depth interviews. The interviewees were three generations of old, middle, and young; four pairs of couple ; and eight Tzu Chi volunteers. The results of the study show that respondents’ motives for participating in volunteer work are attributed to charitable personalities, as well as being inspired by the moral integrity of the Master Dharma Mater Cheng Yen, the selfless dedication of the Tzu Chi people, and the simplicity of the Hualien Jing Si Abode. After participating in the Charity and Disaster Relief Activities in 921, most people realized the truth of “see suffering and recognize blessings” and “life is impermanent,” and then they changed their bad habits or improved the family-child relationship, and in the circumstance of “ more and more happy”, they encouraged their spouses to join the volunteer service. The benefits of joint participation of the couple in the volunteer include:There is more time to share life stories with each other. At the same time, they can complement each other in work, family, and volunteer work to support and learn from each other. Although the long-term volunteer activities will inevitably lead to frustrations in personnel management and communication, or due to physical load problems, which may generate the idea of displacing volunteer activities. However, Tzu Chi’s efforts to create a volunteer environment for the development of true, good, and beautiful volunteers, the mutual support and care of Tzu Chi’s selflessness, and the more intelligent expression of the interviewees’ more and more happy are the key factors in the joint and continuous input of Tzu Chi’s couple volunteers. This study looks forward to providing objective references and suggestions to the couple volunteers. Li Cheng-Lung 李政隆 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 88 zh-TW
