In order to make Taiwan's medical tourism flourish in the international market, it’s time to grasp the existing advantages, elevate the medical tourism industry, and propose appropriate promotional mechanisms. The purpose of this study was to understand the status quo of Taiwan's medical tourism. To illustrate, it attempted to examine Taiwan's merits and demerits and deliberate the potential limitations in developing medical tourism. The research methodology utilized qualitative research by individually interviewing with local tour agency, numerous medical organizations and tourists who came to Taiwan for medical care were applied. Some suggestions to the stakeholders according to the research outcomes are given as follows.1.In addition to the high medical standards, communicative ability in foreign languages should be strengthened when it comes to the development of medical tourism.2.The ecological policy should be incorporated into the development of medical tourism.3.To enhance the development of medical tourism, the government should deregulate the restrictions in advertisement.4.The government should not only collaborate with the relevant institutions but also with heterogeneous organizations.
