The sea and continental shelf of Vietnam contain abundant resources and potential, which is very favorable for the development of marine economy. Vietnam's coastline stretches over 3.260km, with many trade ports and near international maritime routes, creating a great advantage for the strategy of marine economic development. In port operation field, Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) has become the most modern, professional and biggest container terminal operator in Vietnam with the sea -port operation services like: cargo handling, logistics, maritime services, salvage, pilot, real estate, office building, civil and military construction and multi-modal transportation services. In the present, SNP holds the leading market share among the terminal operators in Vietnam. The import-export container throughput of SNP has accounted for more than 90 % of the market share in Ho Chi Minh City area and nearly 50 % nationwide. This research identify the factors affect job satisfaction in Saigon Newport Corporation and built up a model to measure the non-administrative employees’ satisfaction in company based on their demographic factor and the influence of job satisfaction factor’s level (independent variables), including work environment, job characteristic, colleague relationship, salary, rewards and welfare policy, job promotion, on the level of job satisfaction (dependent variable). The model will be analyzed by applying multiple regression analysis using SPSS software because there are 5 independent variables and their affects have to be seen on the satisfaction of the patients which is the sole dependent variable. For this purpose data was collected from Saigon Newport Corporation with the research sample consisted of 360 employees. The purpose of this study is to investigate existing literature and theory in order to initially construct a conceptual framework of factors affecting job satisfaction. The results of the study revealed in a specific case and researcher concluded that all 5 above-mentioned independent variables have direct effects toward job satisfaction, especially the 3 variables: Work environment, Job characteristic, Salary, rewards and welfare policy, in the case of Saigon Newport Corporation. After evaluating employee satisfaction in Saigon Newport Corporation, this research provided some suggestions to increase its employee satisfaction. This research will provide a good model for large enterprises to evaluate their employees’ job satisfaction.
