Understanding level of job satisfaction and factors responsible for job satisfaction of midwives has supreme importance in the delivery of effective, efficient and sustainable services and reduction of maternal and neonatal morbidities and mortality. Aims: Survey job satisfaction and related factors of midwife in Tu Du Hospital in 2017, Compare the differences of job satisfaction of midwives among different socio-demographic characteristics and determine the important predictors of job satisfaction of midwives at Tu Du hospital. Methods: This cross-sectional study. Data was collected in Tu Du Hospital during December 2017 to March 2018. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 22th. Results: A total of 385 midwives were recruited in this study. The age of midwives ranged from 21 to 55 years old (M=33.84). Sixty four percent midwives had family and 57% of participants less than 10 years. Eighty percent of the participants had midwifery education in midwifery, and those working in these two divisions were postoperative (39.48%) and gynecological (41.3%). The saving is less than 10 million VND per month (60.74%). As for the study participants, the majority of the participants were staff midwives (95.58%). Most of the participants were satisfied with the elements of the aspects: job security, psychological factors, social. However, there are some aspects that have the greatest number of participants in terms of dissatisfaction: annual leave you receive from hospital/health center (68.57%), the part-time job opportunity (53.25%), the perception participants recognition from your head for your work (66.49%), interaction with colleagues (65.71%), responsibility at work (68.57%). There is a strong correlation between participants' satisfaction with the factors of working conditions, workload, monitoring, achievement, management policies, wages, standards of care and the nature of work, and with correlation coefficient (r) from 0.68 to 0.85. After multivariate analysis, satisfaction was related to working unit, workload, supervision , nature of work itself, standard of care. Moreover, those who are satisfied with the workload, supervision, nature of work itself and standards of care are more satisfied with the job than those who do not. The four-factor model: workload, supervision, job quality, standards of care, model can predict 95.6% of cases, and with R square of 0.93. It also explained that 93% of the cases were satisfied with the work of the midwife of Tu Du hospital, further Hosmer and Lemeshow test for the significance is 1 indicates a highly suitable model. Conclusions: Job satisfaction is not related to age groups, marital status, academic status, length of employment, monthly salary, work unit, job placement, job requirements , promotion, fairness in payment, organizational and management policies. Those who are satisfied with the workload, supervision, job quality, and standard of care are more satisfied with overall job satisfaction.
