碩士 === 明新科技大學 === 管理研究所碩士在職專班 === 106 === The main purpose of this study is to explore the difference in production efficiency between the semi-conductor industries in Taiwan from 2008 to 2017. In addition, according to the implementation of the corporate governance system in 2012, it is further to divide all sample period to two sub-samples and to observe the changes in production efficiency of the whole companies. The empirical model is estimated using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) with BCC model. Empirical results show that the sample companies have significant heterogeneous characteristics, and reflect in the inventory turnover rate, return on assets, return on equity and earnings per share, resulting in significant differences in production efficiency among companies. In addition, the adjustment of both number of employees and the size of total asset are mainly improvement policies of in production efficiency. Finally, after the reform of corporate governance in 2012, the main reason for the significant decline in production efficiency is that it is inferred that over-supervision will likely cause the company to miss the best investment opportunities, and the monetary environment and the depreciation of the Renminbi also play an important factors in change of the efficiency. Therefore, the study also suggests that corporate management can adopt strategies such as asset disposal and capital structure adjustment to improve the company's operating performance
