Because farmers intend to reduce the cost of ploughing and mechanical cost, normally farmers don’t plow before planting mustards. The field would have a lot of straw residues and the soil was hard. Thus, most commercially available vegetable transplanters don’t work properly. Farmers plant mustards manually in Taiwan up to date. In order to solve problems of aging population and manual planting in agriculture, this research modified the vegetable transplanter for mustard. The structural safety factor was set to 2. The lowest safety factor of the machine was 2.04 after analysis using commercially available software, ANSYS. The experiments in this research were divided into test1 and test2. Three trials were used in the test1. Each trial had 50 mustards. Due to the over depth of the press wheels, the effect of the cover soil was not acceptable. The mustards were lodging severe. The lodging of seedling reduced the survival rate. The higher traveling speed of tractor, the higher lodging of seedling was occurred. Five trials were used in the test2. Each trial had 50 mustards. The transplanter had a minimum lodging rate of 6 %. The maximum survival rate of mustard was 98% after 14 days of transplanting. The result showed an average spacing of 39.2 to 39.9 cm. Planting 1000 m2 took about 1.2 hour at a speed of 0.19 m/s. The number of plants was around 2500. The effectiveness of vegetable transplanter could be four times higher than traditional planting. This research showed that the prototype to transplant mustard on no-till field was possible as well as saved labor and time. 謝禮丞 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 76 zh-TW
