碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 高階經理人碩士在職專班 === 106 === The securities industry has had to rapidly changing markets to survive in recent years, through transformation and breakthroughs on important issues. When looking back at the history of securities in Taiwan, I observe that securities companies have increased their operating risks, while the returns declined. Therefore, the only way to survive is to adopt a “balanced” strategy and development and to ease the brokers’ difficulties. The business of wealth management was first established in 2005 and stock trading and wealth management became two major parts of the domestic securities market. This study examines the factors affecting the performance of securities branch by comparing the various operating performances of the sample securities branches with 13 variables of stock market performance. Based on the empirical results of multivariate regression, I find that the branch should focus on the improvement of electronic trading and the promotion of new electronic trading account. In addition, the branch also needs to pay more attention to the relationship with the long-term customers because they generate most of the income in the branch. Finally, the branch should extend its service in different areas, such as new business model in trading service, asset management, and other income generating operations.
