The phenomenon creates distortion in the auto- and cross-correlation functions seen at FO-CDMA receivers and, in turn, worsens system performance. Applying a recently demonstrated semiconductor-optical-amplifier-based tunable dispersion compensator, this thesis formulates a new analytical model to quantify the performance of this kind of FO-CDMA systems, which also support adjustable quality-of-services through a flexible choice of code weight. Computer simulations are performed to validate the new analytical model.
