In order to spread the light in the light guide plate uniformly, there are many patterns on its bottom surface that refract and scatter light and transmit it to the display panel. In a conventional TFT-LCD, the multilayer diaphragm lose a lot of light, causes the light utilization less than 10 %. In this paper, an interface reflection and Brewster angle symmetric micro-structures are proposed. Combined with the collimated and polarized laser diode light source, the efficiency of the backlight module can be improved to more than 45 %.
