碩士 === 國立勤益科技大學 === 工業工程與管理系 === 106 === In the daily life the diet section has many hidden waste. Take a family as an example; consumers mostly store their food in a refrigerated or frozen way. Some food does not indicate the expiration date on the package properly; some food expiration date marked on the outer packing. Most outer packing will be discarded after unpacking, and the expiration date will be unknown. Eventually, the purchased food will be discarded and generates more food waste. In order to realize this issue and solve food waste, this research is about to enable consumers to know exactly when a food is due. Making it possible for consumers to clearly understand the food due dates, this study collects the information about smart refrigerator and food management application (APP) on the market, and finds out the food management APP is more economical when compared with the smart refrigerator. However, most of the food management APPs on the market need to input the food information, for example, the food name and expiration date, manually. Those APPs are inconvenient for consumers. This study uses Android studio programming software to design a new APP to help consumers easily view the expiration date of the food by just scanning the QR code on the receipt to record the name of the product and the expiration date. In addition, the designed APP can remind consumers when the food is due timely. Through this application, we can effectively improve the problem of food waste in everyday life.
