Couplings have been widely used in daily life's machinery and equipment, such as vehicles, wind power and so on. Couplings can generally divided into rigid couplings and flexible couplings. In this study, flexible couplings are use as the research object, and flexible couplings of the rigid and steel sheet types be used for analysis. Samples were be environmental impact assessed using ROTEX-GS and RADEX-NC types from KTR Company in Germany. This study analyzes the environmental damage and impact of the couplings during the production process. The results shows that the types of ROTEX-GS and RADEX-NC couplings have the greatest impact on human health under the materials, electric consumption, packaging, and transportation. In the analysis raw materials from the non-backlash elastic couplings, the elastomer is the import part that has the greatest impact on human health and environmental impact. At the raw material analysis, the elastic sheet is the important part that the steel plate type couplings have the greatest impact on human health and environmental impact. In the analysis of electric power consumption, the most important cause of human health and environmental impact during the production and processing of couplings. Because of the long Coupling machining process time and the high power Processing machine, human health and environmental impact are the highest. In addition, the ratio of thermal power generation in Taiwan's power generation is 84.4%, which is highly polluting to the environment. In the packaging coupling part, it is packing in carton. The larger the relative carton, the greater the impact on the environment. Therefore, if it can reduce the amount of cartons and the heat treatment process of screw can shorten the time or avoid a small amount of material heat treatment. All can greatly reduce the impact on the environment and human health. In transportation analysis, if the distance of transport by sea is too long, the power of the freighter is to burn heavy oil. Sea transport has the greatest impact on human health and environmental impact.
