The purposes of this study were to explore the effects of Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy on the adolescent drug abusers’ rational beliefs, inner containment and self-concept.
The test-receiver is random sampling students of vocational high school’ high risk of drug abusers in Nantou city.Randomly selecting 11studentsat high rish of drug abusers as experimental group and 8 students as control group.The pretest-posttest-follow-up test equivalent-group design was adopted in the study. The experimental group received eight sessions of the Congnitive Behavioral Group treatment once a week.The study used“Drug abusers’ rational beliefs inventory”, “Inner containment inventory”, and “Adolescents’ self-concept inventory”to conduct pretest, posttest, and follow-up measures. The data was analyzed by used the analysis of covariance.According to some suggestions of experimental group and group observation records as evidence and support for this study.Results were summarized as follow:
一、The Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy Treament had no significant immediate effect on the adolescent drug abusers’ rational beliefs and inner containment, but the performance of experimental group is better than control group on acceptance. According to the interactive of members, treatment is more helpful to cognitive of drug knowledge and negative impact on drug addiction. Because the inner containmentt including self-concept and cognitive development, adolescentwas not mature of self-control, so less helpful to inner containmentby treatment.
二、The Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy Treament had no significant immediate effect on the adolescent drug abusers’ self-concept, but the performance of experimental group is better than control group on acceptance. According to the interactive of members,it did enhance the subjects’ self-concept, especially physical-self, academic-self and school-self. IV
三、According to the findings, some suggestions of application for drug knowledge, drug abstaining work, emotion regulation and further study are presented.
