One swimming coach who teaches physical and mental disability, six students with mental disability, and five students with physical disability participated for this study. The age of students were 12 to 19 years old. They had practiced swimming one to six years. The videos were analyzed using the Arizona State University Observation Instrument for the behavior characteristics of swimming coach performed during three training days. The results showed that the instruction behavior was the main coaching style during the training class, and the instructional strategy provided immediately near the competition session. The swimming coach was often ask question to check the students with mental disability for the understanding of coach's instruction. And the swimming coach would provide the help of body instruction and the demonstration of movement for the students with multiple physical disability until they were improved. This study suggested the swimming coach had to know the handicap reason and the special need for the students with physical and mental disability in order to select and develop their expert and advantage properly.
