Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 數理教育研究所 === 106 === The purpose of this study was to apply “The Number Sense Four-tier Computerized Diagnostic Test” to examine sixth graders’ number sense performance and the difference of confidence index. By investigating 269 public elementary students who finished sixth-grade courses in Taiwan, the students’ performances, confidence rating, metacognition skills and strong misconceptions were investigated. The major findings of this study included: 1. There are statistically significant differences among the students’ performances and confidence rating on number sense components; 2. Students possess metacognitive skill well on number sense; 3. Seven strong misconceptions were identified and most of them can be found in related studies.
