Now days the stamping process is generally used to replace the fundury for better benefit. The process of drums is designed as three steps of drawing and three steps of spline forming. Due to the flash lands on the edge after spline sizing,the shearing die is designed and manufactured to reach the features and dimensions required. In this study,two different types of shearing dies with different direction of force were designed - the “Single Direction Shearing Die Set” and “All-round Direction Shearing Die Set“ to compare the productivity of each die set. Before the particle development,use the 3D modeling to evaluate the actuation and the possibility of the process. After the mold trail,each stroke of Single Direction Shearing Die Set required 8 tons for shearing and punching. But it only sheared one direction at a time,the operator had to keep spinning the object into next angle for next stroke and It took 45 seconds to finish one piece. The development cost of this die set is 8 thousands New Taiwan Dollar. On the other hand,the All-round Direction Shearing Die is divided into two stages. Each stroke required respectively 45 tons for shearing and punching,and 30 tons for only shearing. Furthermore,It only took about 6 seconds to finish shearing and punching. This die sets cost four-hundred thousands New Taiwan Dollar.
