Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 國文學系 === 106 === It is hard for us to imagine the future world, but it is certain that it requires abilities of oral expression and communication. Most students in junior high have acquired basic ability of communication, so teachers should aim to nurture their advanced thinking mode and have their thoughts turn into eloquent expression. It will enable the students to express themselves with adequate oral skills when facing different people in different contexts. At this moment, the 12-year Compulsory Curriculum will be implemented and communication and interaction is considered one of the essential three literacies, oral expression, aside from the reading literacy, becomes an important and not negligible ability in the field of Mandarin Education. Focused Conversation, then, enables students to have more opportunities to orally express themselves and develop the ability of communication and interaction within study groups. This thesis explores the teaching objectives and strategies which can enhance students' oral expression in the field of Mandarin Education under the guidelines of the above-mentioned Curriculum. By applying Focused Conversation and reading activity to Mandarin Education, the researcher guided the students to focus their logical thinking, interact and share. Moreover, by evaluating the students' learning, the use of the Teaching Observation form and the questionnaire, the researcher came to understand the influence of such teaching strategies on students' oral expression, and, therefore, could reexamine and improve her teaching method. The conclusions of my research are as follows: 1) Focused Conversation promotes oral expression in students. 2) Teaching the text thorough the use of Focused Conversation can promote students' ability in oral expression. 3) The more opportunities to speak in public, the better deportment of the students. 4) A friendly milieu helps promote the students' motives in oral expression.
