Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 劇場藝術學系研究所 === 106 === The thesis discusses the progress of how the author creates the stage design for BALLET PRELJOCAJ’s ballet production Blanche-Neige (Snow White), and explores the everlasting charm and enchantment of this classic fairy tale by analyzing other Snow White related plays. In the past, the general impression of Snow White productions often linked to children’s performances; however, in Blanche-Neige, adult dialogues and vocabulary were largely used, regardless that the play was originally adapted from Grimms'' Fairy Tales. In this thesis, the author compares the differences of the contents, roles and story background among three versions of Snow White – Grimm’s, Walt Disney’s and Blanche-Neige. The aspects proposed in Christopher Vogler’s “12 Stages of The Hero''s Journey” were used as the element to break down the plots of the plays. The author analyzes the theatrical and psychological effects created by the characters, and transforms these findings into visual elements of the stage design. Certain female issues that derived through the study served as inspirations of this production – through modern realism and from a woman’s perspective, the author hopes to reintroduce Snow White back to stage as a modern woman.
