Chan-Chuang Qigong is a simple, less side effects of one of the types of exercise, therefore, in addition to Western rehabilitation, the traditional Chinese medicine should also be beneficial to patients with heart failure. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of Chan-Chuang Qigong on improving the physical, psychological and quality of life of patients with heart failure. METHODS: In this study, randomized controlled trials were conducted to randomize the case into the experimental group (n=50) for 12 weeks of pacification, or the control group (n=50) which did not provide intervention. Data collection with Physiological indicators (six-minute walk test, heart rate variability, heart rate, blood pressure and Saturation pulse oxygen), depression (depression subscale) and quality of life indicators (Short Form-12 scale) were measured in all cases before and 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 12 weeks after intervention by SPSS 20.0 data archiving, and using independent t test and generalized estimation equation for data analysis. Results: After intervention of Chan-Chuang Qigong, 6-minute walking test, Standard Deviation of Normal to Normal, high frequency, 12th week of low frequency, low frequency and high frequency ratio, 2th and 4th week of diastolic blood pressure, Saturation pulse oxygen, depression subscale score, and Short Form-12 scale score have all reached significant difference (P<0.05). As for heart rate and systolic blood pressure, there was no significant difference between the two groups (p>0.05). Conclusions/Implications for Practice: Chan-Chuang Qigong can stabilize the physiological function of patients with heart failure, regulate the autonomic nervous system into balance, also reduce anxiety and improve the quality of life. The combination of Chinese and Western medicine combined care model to relieve the patient's physical discomfort, will be able to achieve the effect of mutual complementation. The future recommendations will incorporate Chan-Chuang Qigong as heart failure patients’ rehabilitation activities to participate in one. Yeh, Mei-Ling 葉美玲 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 125 zh-TW
