碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 美術學系碩士在職專班 === 106 === ABATRACT This thesis explores on Chen Cheng’s contribution to the art field in all aspects from his work to education and influences to others through in-depth interviews, literature discussion and exhibition albums. We analyze his background, development progress, artwork and also his influence in the education world by interviewing his peers, colleagues, students and family. Also investigate his ever lasting impact and influence to the Art world long after his retirment through part time in school artist and participating art associations. The pioneers of Taiwanese artist studied in Japan during Japanese occupied era. Upon returning to Taiwan they carried forward this knowledge to the motherland. Soon after Chinese art was introduced which was then followed by Western art influence. Therefore, multi-development of art was created.In the aftermath of Recession of Taiwan, art movement and economic status in the Yunlin province remained in the colonial period. Basic life of living became the priority and employment being the main reason of education. Chen Cheng is a local artist trained by Taiwan Normal University Department of Fine Arts . He continued to promote art education and enhance learning habits of Yunlin County while teaching at Siluo High School and Tou-Liu Senior High School. With his guidance students were willing to follow their career in arts and continue everlasting art culture. Keywords：Yunlin、art educator、Chen Cheng
