This study used questionnaires to collect data from 446 participants in the elementary school in Hsinchu. I employed t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation and hierarchical regression for statistical analysis. The results were summarized as follows: 1. Male fifth graders significantly recognized more non-fiction than female students; while female sixth graders significantly recognized more fiction than their male counterparts. 2. Sixth graders obtained significantly higher scores on Author Recognition Test and on Title Recognition Test than fifth and fourth graders. 3. Print exposure was a significant predictor for the academic achievement of the fourth, fifth and sixth graders, even after reading comprehension controlled. 4. Title Recognition Test is a better instrument for fifth graders than Author Recognition Test, whereas Author Recognition Test is a better instrument for sixth graders than Title Recognition Test. 5. Print exposure can predict not only Chinese academic achievement but also social studies and science achievement for fifth and sixth graders. Chen, Su-Yan 陳素燕 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 104 zh-TW
