It helps the economic growth of the country due to its high interrelationship. Taiwan and South Korea are both located in East Asia. The manufacturing industries take up the largest proportion of economic growth in both countries. In recent years, manufacturing industries in Taiwan keep developing information electronics industry, mainly focus on the electronic components. The South Korean government also attaches great importance to ICT (Information and Communication Technology) industries. It raises the budget for ICT industries including 5G, IoT (Internet of Things) and Big Data. Taiwan's manufacturing industries are comprised of SMEs (Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises) and the Taiwan government assisted these companies with national economic policy. The South Korean government, on the other hand, supported by the policy and allocated the resources to only a few consortiums which in turn, makes the manufacturing industries controlled by them. South Korea deepens industrial technology to enhance the value added of the manufacturing industry while Taiwan creates value added with innovation. The two countries have achieved excellent results in the information electronics industry in recent years. After the oil crisis and the financial crisis, Taiwan and South Korea still has a pivotal position in the global manufacturing supply chain currently. This study uses the value added of the industry in recent years to measure the industrial efficiency of the manufacturing industry in both countries. Based on the additional value calculation methods listed in the book "The measurement of value added in Taiwan industries" from IEK of ITRI, the statistical information of the DGBAS, the statistical department of Economic Affairs, the OECD and the TEJ, this study investigates whether the value added and the value added ratio in manufacturing industries, four main industries and each industry under manufacturing industries in the two countries have a positive impact on the industrial economic development.
