碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 音樂學系碩士班 === 106 === Franz Peter Schubert, the Austrian composer, is one of most representative composers in early nineteenth century. During Schubert’s short lifetime, he composed more than six hundred art songs. He had a great talent for composing not only melodic art works but also piano music. His piano works are popular with most listeners as well. The Wanderer Fantasy, D. 760 is one of Schubert’s masterpieces of piano works completed in 1822. This research was to study the background and development of Romanticism as well as Schubert’s lifetime, piano works and his composing methods of piano works. The author further analyzed the Wanderer Fantasy, D. 760, the Schubert’s piano work. That included not only the analysis of its forms, melody, rhythm, harmony and tonality but also playing skills as the touching of keys, power and tempo. Through this research, we learned Schubert used the melody of the Wanderer, D. 493 as the main factor of the Wanderer Fantasy, D. 760. This work is a four-movement fantasy for solo piano by using the cyclic form. There are the diversified harmony and song-like melody in this work. Furthermore, Schubert modulated key frequently to switch the atmosphere. When playing the Wanderer Fantasy, D. 760, following the sign on the sheet music would better interpret the composer’s original meaning. Through this study, the author would like to help players to not only understand forms, content and artistic quality of the Wanderer Fantasy, D. 760 but also practice it more effectively.
