| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 動畫媒體設計研究所碩士班 === 106 === Researcher likes to watch “Doraemon” which contains various and magical props since childhood. Therefore, the research is focus on “Doraemon” and has futher discussion on classifing props by its functions. The animation 《Don’t touch the cake!》 created by researcher is mainly based on the use of props. With further investigation into the influence between functions of props and plots. And apply the conclusion in personal creation.
Network sampling started from February to April, 2016. Systematic sampling is then used to screen subsamples. Subsamples of “Doraemon” are one hundred fifteen chapters with hundred seventy one props. Through inductive classification found props of “Doraemon” could be divided into eight categories by its capability. The most frequently used of the top three props are : 1. Time machine, 2. Bamboo-Copter, 3. Door to everywhere. The turning point of story mentioned by Wright (2005) applies three-act structure. After comparison found that the props have effects on structure and causal relationship of story.
《Do not touch the cake!》 is a story about a stubborn scientist and a mouse who accidentally breaks into the laboratory, using props to chase each other. Props are designed as 1. Reverse space-time watch; 2. Transfiguration syrup; 3. Anesthetic gun-type pen. "Reverse space-time watch" leads development of the story. "Transfiguration" and "Anesthetic gun-type pen", are intended to change the context of the story. Under the limit of time, 《Do not touch the cake!》is unable to become a serial animation. Whether different type of props can lead the structure of story and change the development of story directly, it can be discussed in the future research.
