Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 音樂學系碩士在職專班 === 106 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the music learning process and performance of second grade junior high school students by using multimedia materials. Eighty-eight students from three classes taught by the authors were involved in the case study. By using self-compiled multimedia materials, the subjects received a 20-week music course and the contents were designed in accordance with the Arts and Humanities textbook published by Kang-Husan Educational Publishing. The data was collected from videotaping, reflective journal writing, feedback from student worksheets, and discussions with the advisor. The concluded findings of this study are summarized as follows: 1. Animated sheet music was an effective teaching method, providing students with timely music visualization. 2. Multimedia materials incorporated with life issues and fashion trend improves students concentration. 3. Music teaching with multimedia materials, which cannot completely substituted for traditional teaching, improved students’ learning motivation and outcomes. 4. The combination of multimedia materials and student worksheets provided students with formative and conclusive messages to develop their active learning. 5. Teachers could reflect on their teaching based on the feedback from the students receiving multimedia materials with student worksheets. Some suggestions are also made for music teachers and future researchers. Keywords:multimedia material;music visualization;junior high school;general music.
