Diabetes correlates closely with obesity. The rise of the concept of preventive medicine has led to an increase in the range of applications of health foods to metabolic diseases. Proanthocyanidins extracted from plants are known to have antioxidant, anti-cancer, anti-hyperglycemia, anti-radiation and prevention of cardiovascular disease and other functions. In order to understand the public awareness of the impact of anthocyanins on improving blood sugar, blood lipid regulation and antioxidant factors, the study was performed by used a questionnaire, hoping to provide a reference for the development of new health food. The results showed that over 80% of 326 subjects knew the sources of anthocyanins and knew that anthocyanins cleared free radicals to prevent the body, the aging of the brain and the cancer. About 70% subjects think that anthocyanidins can regulate blood sugar and blood lipid, prevent atheroma and anti-inflammation. However, the monthly income of individual background variables, who have chronic diseases, have heard of anthocyanins and weekly consumption of purple, purple and blue (only one can) average number of fruits and vegetables are used to make the subjects have different of anthocyanin awareness; anthocyanin anthocyanins and anthocyanin performance of those who use to promote their health awareness were significantly higher than those who did not take anthocyanins health food behavior. In addition, the educational background of personal background, the monthly income and anthocyanins and their promotion of health function awareness has a low correlation.
