To probe the background variables influencing elementary 4th graders’ knowledge in aquatic organisms, attitudes and behavior of water area environment. The research is based on the questionnaires which were targeted on elementary 4th graders. 420 subjects were recruited by stratified sampling. And there are 364 valid questionnaires. The data from the valid questionnaires are calculated and analyzed by the statistical analysis tools-SPSS, and the methods include descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation analysis. According to the results from the analysis, the following conclusions are listed below. 1. Knowledge in aquatic organisms was good (82.4% correct answering rate averagely). Regarding the attitudes of water area environment, elementary 4th graders’ average score was 4.55 points, which showed that they’re active and positive. As to the behavior of water area environment, elementary 4th graders’ average score was 3.35 points. It explained that students’ behavior was slightly positive. 2. It is found that knowledge in aquatic organisms of the elementary 4th graders have statistically obvious differences on the factors upon gender, natural science scores, whether watching environmental protection news. 3. It is found that attitudes of water area environment of the elementary 4th graders have statistically obvious differences on the factors upon gender, natural science scores, whether watching environmental protection news. 4. It is found that behavior of water area environment of the elementary 4th graders have statistically obvious differences on the factors upon gender, whether watching environmental protection news. 5. It is found that the knowledge in aquatic organisms and attitudes of water area environment of the elementary 4th graders have a modestly correlated. Knowledge in aquatic organisms and behavior of water area environment of the elementary 4th graders have a weakly correlated. Attitudes of water area environment and behavior of water area environment of the elementary 4th graders have a modestly correlated. Finally, based on the results of study, researcher provided some commendations in water area education and future study. HSIN, HUAI-TZU 辛懷梓 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 159 zh-TW
