Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 資訊科學系碩士班 === 106 === Since we are now living in the 21st century where the global village thrives, business activities throughout the world are active, and exchanges of cross-border activities are frequent. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs official website, foreigners from up to 60 countries have been granted visa-free access to Taiwan. As a commanding officer in a police station, the researcher of this study had experienced the infamous “First bank ATM robbery case” and “World Trade Center jewel theft case”. This shows that a large number of transnational crimes and other consequences have been derived from the cross-border exchanges between people in various countries. Though some foreigners committed crimes in Taiwan, our country does not force them to enter fingerprints for filing upon immigration inspection, causing difficulties when conducting criminal investigations. Even if the crimes were locked down as soon as possible, there is no way to match the identity of the suspects, making it hard to do more follow-up investigations. As a result, not only does it may do harm to the life, body and property of our citizens, it also affects the image of our country. Till this moments, fingerprint identification is still one of the most common methods to confirm personal identity. On top of that, smart phone technology has continued to develop, and mobile payment has become increasingly popular. In the future, the importance of fingerprint identification technology in various fields is even more vital. This study will introduce a variety of current fingerprint identification technology, then present an in-depth exploration of the application of relevant technologies in the field of practice, and utilize scientific verification to prove the correctness of the system.
