The application of batik art is different from the creation of batik on thinking. The overall objective of this study is the artistic creation of batik, as a result of the author would like to improve the capability of artistic creation by the experience of batik application for many years. At first, this study explores the history of batik. After investigating and comparing Eastern and Western current situation of batik art, through data collection methods, this study introduces the seniors’ experience of batik creation. In the process of creation, this study attempts to finish the work with the themes, media, tools, and pigments that the author has never used, and gains the valuable creative experience; meanwhile, also views the author’s disadvantages and explores the possibility of batik creation in the future. This study is constituted by five chapters. Chapter one “Introduction” explains the motivation, purposes, contents, and research methods of this study. Chapter two “Theory and literature review” illustrates the history of batik and the current situation of batik panting. Chapter three lists, analyzes and compares Eastern and Western painters’ work. Chapter four interprets the author’s concept of creation, media, techniques and work analysis. Chapter five “Conclusion” contains summary of the above chapters, self-reflections and future outlooks.
