Our life on them not only affects the forms of islands, but also is affected by the island forms; islands become wonderful with people and people experience the wonder of the world on islands. This research paper takes imagery thinking of “island” as the research axis of landscape painting creation, discusses the relationship between inner spirit of individuals and manifestations of nature and takes it to make art creation to describe personal mind. This creation takes Chinese traditional painting, philosophical thought and aesthetic theory as basis, combines the observation and understanding in contemporary life, adopts traditional Chinese painting medium to present own painting style in the expression theme of “island” and delivers the things saw, thought and understood in landscape painting. This research paper consists of five chapters. The first chapter confirms the purpose and significance of this research paper through theoretical discussion of predecessors in painting as well as the discussions on philosophical connotations and literary significance behind painting thought. The second chapter discusses the theoretical basis of “One Island One World” and explores the expression form of theoretical basis in paintings of predecessors, which confirms theoretical basis for expression ways and forms of individual creation and seeks for breakthrough direction. The third chapter discusses the literary connotations of “island” as well as the painting works related to island, summarizes the creation experience of predecessors and provides references for individual creation. The fourth chapter elaborates works, analyzes the creation ideas and skills, describes from four series of (1) Tao is Bodhi series, (2) Five colors disorder series, (3) Nanshan meeting series and (4) Normalization series to express the mood of personal creation. The fifth chapter is creation experience, thinking and expectation for future. The creation of One Island and One World integrates individual painting language and constructs artistic conception of self landscape painting through research on ink and wash creation of four series as well as the observations and experience for nature and life and the exploration of humanistic thought.
