Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 機械工程系 === 106 === In order to carry out the intelligent micro tapping, this study developed the monitoring system to check the thrust force and the breakage of the micro fluteless taps. The developed system includes the information module, the process parameter module, the position module, and the image-acquisition module, to retract the information of CNC controller, by using the IP Communications protocol connecting to the CNC controller. The machine operating status can be displayed and monitored on the developed system. A dynamometer was set up to perform the tapping thrust force measurement for tapping a stainless steel SUS304. The thrust force was measured during tapping, and the signal analysis has been performed for the detection of tool wear and tool breakage of the used micro fluteless taps. Finally, the quality of the thread was tested by the thread plug gauge and the index of the thread full rate. The plots of the tapping thrust force vs. number of tapping, tool wear vs. number of tapping, thread full rate vs. number of tapping, have been investigated in this study. It is expected that the research results can provide the industry some useful information regarding the tapping process.
