Description
Summary:碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 應用化學系 === 106 === Alstonia scholaris (L.) R. Br. (Apocynaceae) is a large deciduous tree widely distributed in the subtropical regions. This plant was introduced as street tree in Taiwan. In folkloric reputation for medicine, it was used for treating dysentery, malaria, tonics, snake bites and antipyretic. In this study, Alstonia scholaris bark was extracted by 75% methanol-water and 75% acetone-water, respectively. These extraction were isolated by the silica gel in the method of column chromatography and obtained four compounds and two mixtures. These compounds were namely, β-amyrin, betulinic acid, glucosyringic acid, cycloeucalenol, α-amyrin acetate、β-amyrin acetate、lupeol acetate mixture and phytosterols mixture, respectively. These structures were elucidated by the spectroscopic methods and authentic samples. Among them, glucosyringic acid was firstly obtained from genus of Alstonia in the literature.
